Ismail Ashiru Mamman is the Managing Director of Inland Drills Limited. A civil engineer and construction-management professional, he provides strategic and operational leadership across mining project development, infrastructure planning, regulatory compliance, technical execution, and stakeholder coordination.
His multidisciplinary background spans mining, engineering, construction management, project supervision, regulatory review, and cost consultancy. It gives Inland Drills a Managing Director able to connect board-level direction with the practical requirements of building and operating a site.
Engineering and construction-management foundation
Mamman holds a Master in Construction Management from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Isik University in Istanbul, Turkiye.
The two qualifications reflect the balance required in his present role. Civil engineering provides the technical foundation for infrastructure and physical works; construction management adds planning, coordination, cost awareness, quality control, and responsibility for delivery.
Mine-site infrastructure experience
Before becoming Managing Director, Mamman served Inland Drills as a Mine Infrastructure Engineer. His work included the design, development, and supervision of essential mine-site infrastructure across Bauchi and Zamfara States.
That infrastructure covered offices, workshops, warehouses, accommodation camps, and security facilities. He also coordinated contractors and supervised construction activities across active mining sites, experience that placed him close to the operational consequences of engineering decisions.
Mine infrastructure is not separate from production. Safe access, secure storage, maintainable workshops, suitable accommodation, and properly planned site facilities all determine whether technical teams can work consistently. Mamman’s earlier role gave him direct experience of that relationship.
Regulatory and technical perspective
Mamman subsequently gained regulatory and technical experience with the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority. His responsibilities included engineering design reviews, infrastructure inspections, technical assessments, and project supervision.
This work strengthened his understanding of regulatory requirements, technical standards, industrial infrastructure, and formal project execution. It also added a regulator’s perspective to his engineering background: good work must not only function on site; it must withstand inspection, documentation, and statutory review.
His broader professional experience includes roles with Marcx and Construction Limited, the Kaduna State Roads Agency, and Amak Consultants, covering engineering, infrastructure, construction, and cost-consultancy environments.
Leadership mandate
As Managing Director, Mamman’s principal areas of leadership include:
- mining project development and operations;
- engineering and mine-site infrastructure;
- regulatory compliance and statutory coordination;
- project, contractor, and cost management;
- technical evaluation and project execution;
- strategic partnerships and stakeholder coordination; and
- responsible and sustainable mining development.
A technically capable operating company
Mamman is committed to advancing Inland Drills as a professionally managed and technically capable mining company. His leadership approach is built around sound engineering, disciplined project execution, regulatory compliance, and partnerships that can support long-term development.
For Inland Drills, that means strategy must remain connected to the ground: every project should be technically considered, properly documented, responsibly delivered, and commercially sustainable.
